With my last post about how to fall asleep faster at night, I realized that I wasn’t the only one who was struggling with that. So I thought I would show you more ways to help you with that problem. For me is really hard to fall asleep, even if I’m super tired. It doesn’t matter if I go to sleep at 10 PM or 2 AM. It will always take at least one hour for my brain to understand that it needs to stop working.
These ways to fall asleep faster at night, work for me, because the goal is to try to get me bored. When I’m bored, I get tired. And when I’m tired I want to sleep.
Play a boring game on your phone
Putting your phone away is important to fall asleep. Everyone will tell you that. And it’s true, because it can be a distraction. Well, it is. But I use that distraction to fall asleep faster! My go-to game for this is WordBrain. I have to find certain words in a puzzle. And since I’m in a difficult level, I take longer to get right it right.
I just play for a few minutes, and after that my brain is tired and it doesn’t want to think more. So any game that makes you think too much late at night will get you tired faster.
Read something that you consider boring
Again. Boring, is the keyword! History books, economy news, a scientific article. Whatever it works for you. In my case, the list is long. At night many things can be boring. Knowing what are the topics that make you yawn is essential. You don’t want to find yourself reading a whole book and going to sleep at 4 AM (I’ve been there. And the rest of the day sucks).
So you can buy a magazine or book about something really boring. And when you can’t sleep, just grab it, read for a few minutes and I’m sure you will be sleeping like a baby in no time.
Listen to relaxing music + imaginary story
This is like, two in one. They can work separately too. Listening to relaxing music or sad songs is something I’ve been doing since I’m little.
When I’m listening to relaxing music I tell myself a story that would calm me. Using my imagination is easy. So I just go with the flow of the music. If I hear a waterfall, then I would imagine I’m there exploring. Just make sure that what you are imagining are always relaxing moments.
I hope this tips help you at night! Do you have other ways to fall asleep faster that I should try?
