Hello everyone! So… the season most people love is here and I’m excited too! What’s not to love about the holidays? The end of the year is almost here and people seem happier too! I mean… Who also needs to leave 2018 behind? *Raises hand*.
Besides that, it’s important to mention that the holidays aren’t that special if you can’t spend them with your loved ones, and I’m not only talking about relatives living in different parts of the world. Couples in long-distance relationships struggle with these important dates too. Not only because plane tickets go up, but also because it’s just hard to ship a gift for our significant others.
That’s why I made a list with seven cheap Christmas gift ideas for long distance relationships. It’s absurd how much it costs to send a box (not even big) to a different city or another country. I know the struggle, that’s why I made this list with some ideas that will help you find a good gift for your boyfriend or girlfriend without breaking the bank.

It’s about giving others joy, love and let them know you are thinking about them. It’s about spending time with the people you love.
Thoughtful gifts are something everyone like, and you can never go wrong with them.
Cheap Christmas Gifts Ideas For Long Distance Relationships
1. Send A Postcard
Classic and simple. I have talked about this before. Every year I send my boyfriend a postcard for Christmas. It’s simple, cheap, and he loves it. It’s a nice touch when you don’t have a big budget for presents.
I use Ink Cards App for that. I love the quality of their postcards and how easy they are to customize it. They give you tons of design options! pick the one you like, add a picture and write a message.
Also, I always try to do it when they have discounts. I don’t remember well, but I think last year I paid $3.
2. Buy An E-Book On Amazon
The best part of this? It doesn’t require shipping. You just have to download it to the other’s person Kindle or to the Kindle App on your phone, iPad or tablet. E-Books are cheaper than physical books, so that’s a bonus! If your boyfriend or girlfriend loves to read then this is the perfect gift!
You can find E-Books from $0! Yeah, I’m not kidding! I found some books that are free with Amazon’s Kindle App. Most likely, the book you want won’t be free but you can always find a good one your special person would love to read.
You can start looking here!
3. Digital Music
Same idea with music. You can do that on Amazon or iTunes. Choose a song the other person loves or a song that makes you think about him or her. A song that makes you remember a moment you had together.
It can be a little tricky when you don’t buy the music for yourself, that’s why I’m linking two tutorials that make the process easier. Gifting iTunes Songs: Give Single Tracks or Complete Albums and How to Gift Someone With a Digital MP3 Through Amazon.
4. Write A Letter
If you want to ship something to another city or country, an envelope is the cheapest option. That’s why this might be one o the best cheap Christmas gifts ideas for long distance relationships.
Take the opportunity to write a long letter (like the old times) and express all your feeling, what worries you, what are you expecting of the future. Whatever you what! Just make it special. By sending snail mail you are already making it special, it’s so rare to get an actual letter on your mailbox. Definitely a change from all those bills and ads.
5. Buy Something From The Beauty Department on Macy’s
My boyfriend figured out this by accident while trying to get free shipping for a hat he wanted to buy. The moment he added something from the beauty department he automatically got free shipping. Independently of the product you choose. It can be something expensive or super cheap. In this case, he added a $3 face mask. So basically, his shipping was a $3 face mask.
So, you have two options here. The first one is to buy something from the beauty department on Macys.com, because no matter what, you get free shipping.
The second option is to get anything from the website, and then adding something from the beauty department. Like my boyfriend did.
6. Send An Envelope With Photos Of You Together
Like I mentioned before, sending an envelope is the cheapest option if you want to something overseas or to another city. So you should take advantage of that!
Print a few photos (in a size that will fit the envelope) of you together or just yourself if you don’t have pictures together yet. It will be a nice surprise either way.
7. Love Coupons
Again, sending an envelope is the way to go if you want to avoid paying a lot of money in sending a gift. With this love coupons, you get to send a gift that you can use later when you are together! And that’s a great way to get excited about the next visit. Having something to look forward to always helps with the anxiety of the waiting. We all know how bad that can be.
