Today, I’ll be in Myrtle Beach for a week to see my boyfriend. I was thinking of all the possible gifts that I could make him. During these two years of our relationship, I have made almost every gift you could think of and find on Pinterest. So after asking my mom for some ideas, we decided that a sweet gift in a jar was the best option for him. This worked out well because I’m not at my house, and I didn’t want to intrude too much my mom’s friend’s apartment.
Who doesn’t love personalized gifts? I definitely do for the simple reason, that you know that person was thinking of you when deciding what present to give you. I decided brownies because Keith loves them!
Materials for this Fudge Brownie In A Jar
- A jar (obviously). I got mine at Ross. They have very cheap ones!
- Jute Cord
- Poster paper
- Wood heart. This is one is from Target, and I got it for 75 cents!
- A screw, to make the hole in the heart.
- Washi tape
Gift in a jar steps
Make a list of the things that person loves. That’s the obvious thing to do. Once you have an idea, pick the things that go with your budget and buy them. Then be creative! You can do so many things with a jar. It doesn’t have to be complicated! That’s why I love gifts in a jar. In few steps, you can make a personalized gift.
For my gift, I just used a wooden heart and jute cord to make the details. I thought it was a nice touch to do it like that. I also added a message on the card I made with the poster papers. And finally, I stuck some washi tape around the jar to make the jar less boring.
The final step is adding the brownies! So hard not to eat them at that moment. They look so good.
What do you think? Have you ever given a gift in a jar before? Let me know in the comments!
